This is so, so true!!! Setting the heating control is like settting a timer on an old VCR, totally tedious! Why is there so much drive from the government to subsidise things like solar electric roof panels when having intelligent systems in the home to control heating, lighting and water consumption would have an equal if not bigger benefit! The technology to do this is so simple these days. If only I had the money, I'd love to invest in this.

What a fab idea...I TOTALLY agree. Also whenever we have visitors we always seem to run out of hot water for showers because I forget to adjust the timer...if you could have a headcount function then the heating could be reduced due to body heat and the hot water increased due to increased usage...do it Bryan!

Nice enough height , when I was painting it was frequently climbing 12 meter ladders and stepping off onto 6m plank hung between 2 ladders…its tough when it was the first climb at the beginning of the year , but gets easier as you get used to it….got to be careful though… always remember .. ‘It’s not the fall that kills you… it’s the sudden stop at the end ‘.

Time and expereince, as with everything there is a learning curve.

Not all the finish is perfect, when using the spray machine it was important to ensure the jet fan from the paint spraying was equal distance the surface, or it resulted in more paint to one side of the spray... when dried this shows as a line. They are hard to spot and are typically on ceilings when I was trying to avoid spray in my eyes. Yes I did try goggles, but they very quickly got covered in paint!

The ridge height will be about 9m, which is high enough with a light breeze and no support!

Thank you for your enquiry and comments which are most appreciated. The walls were painted by Claire and her friend, Jane. Claire and Jane's Painting Services are available at very reasonable rates. Although they do tend to get as much paint on themselves as they do on the walls...

The quality of workwomanship in that office is outstanding! The paintwork is of such a high standard that I should like to employ the painters myself! That is assuming that they are affordable as craftswomanship like that does surely not come cheaply. Do let me know their contact details. Well done!

Those windows look so big and heavy. On on the view from the webcam they appear to be smaller than they are. Having seen them in the flesh they are truly quality workmanship. With these now fitted, you really do have the feel of 'the home' emerging.

Madness, utter madness - why people will go out of their way to do themselves out of a job will confuse me for all time.

Dad and I have been watching and it didn't really seem like they were pulling their weight a lot of the time. The new team have a point to make and will probably go hard at it.
